We lost a well loved and well kent big bear of a man on 25 June. Iain fought a year long battle with cancer maintaining good grace as the gentleman he so naturally was.
Iain was as inclusive as he was welcoming and kind. He loved people to be together and to be loved.
Apart from our own personal heartbreak, there are many of.my children's friends and families around the town and beyond feeling some pain and loss.
Archie and I love a commerative bench and are the types to say hi and have a wee chat about those remembered as we sit. It was natural i looked at benches and then i found
MAC THE TRUCK!!!!!!!
A more appropriate tribute to iain surely could not be found. Loads of people can fit (once permitted), anyone can use it at any time. Iain would be very amused at the thought of some teens going vroom vroom of an evening.
Through some epic friends and their enthusiasm we have a proposed local site, with agreed maintainance in a place iain was known which happens to be our closest park. Once i have a bit more information, i shall update this page.
If this is not your thing and would prefer a charitable donation then The Maggie Centre, CHAS and your local food bank are all excellent choices. And we thank you.
And for those not local to Dunbar and not savvy to where this is. All you need to know it is at a park with a bar! Anyone can visit. Come on over.
