Hysterical Exhibition 2024

For Women’s History Month 2024, Hysterical Collective presents, Hysterical: Radical Creativity - the third instalment of the annual charity art exhibition and cultural programme taking place in March each year. Co-founded and curated by Eliza Hatch of Cheer Up Luv and Bee Illustrates. 

In 2022 Bee Illustrates and Eliza Hatch teamed up to create and curate Hysterical, following their debut's massive success, Hysterical returned in 2023 - described by the Evening Standard as 'an intimate and cathartic exploration of misogyny.'

WHO ARE WE?                                                    

Eliza Hatch is a photographer, activist, speaker and founder of Cheer Up Luv, a photo series and platform dedicated to retelling stories of sexual harassment. Bee Illustrates is a queer artist who uses their practice to educate and inform on a range of topics like feminism, mental health and queerness.                             

ABOUT THE SHOW:

Hysterical is a charity group exhibition celebrating women and marginalised genders whose work is centred on community, activism and uplifting the voices of those around them. The show will bring together creatives from multiple disciplines including photography, illustration, film, textiles and digital media whose work focuses on issues such as identity, race, sexual harassment, gender, politics and more.

This year we have partnered with Bermondsey Project Space to showcase the work of a selection of amazing creatives from a diverse range of backgrounds.

OUR GOAL:

We know how hard it is to come by creative opportunities that focus on community and emerging artists - especially ones that aren’t focused on lining someone’s pockets! We know that this exhibition will be a wonderful experience for our group of exhibitors, as well as attendees. Our ethos for this project is centred around our desire to create opportunities we wish we had when trying to break into the creative industry.

This is a fundraising exhibition, with money from our event tickets and work sales going to our chosen charity, Galop UK.
