With increasing our teams to now 4 active teams, we want to finance these and future generations of players whilst improving our facilities.
We have now been accepted by Sport England Active Together Fund as of today, which is great news but it means we’ve re-evaluated our target with the aim to maximize our return. Our target is £25,000 in total which includes £10,000 from Sport England. The £10,000 will be added once we reach 100 ‘supporters’ to the campaign (currently 71) - you can even just pledge £1 to help us!
We would then need to ensure we hit the £25,000 milestone in the remaining time frame in order to be successful, otherwise their pledge is returned along with everyone’s donations being sent back to them! The increased target will allow us to improve our changing rooms, and also partition off the half time facility for players and spectators which was not on the cards before our revised targets. New rewards have been added to help encourage reaching our target and all your support is so much appreciated- even just £1 to get us to 100 unique supporters!
Who are we?
Hurst Green FC have been around for over 100 years and we have a wonderful team of volunteers who strive to improve everything both on and off the pitch. We have x2 open age teams playing in the West Lancs league, as well as recently establishing a vets team and this season we are starting an under 23s team. Our future vision is to expand into junior football as well.

Community impact
We have recently sponsored the local school primary football team and held a family day and these are things close to our purpose. We want to be a place where all the community can enjoy watching football with their family and work with local children more to inspire future generations. We are at the highest level of the grassroots game at amateur level and we want to be able to offer a place for anyone aged 16 plus can feel welcome and enjoy their football at a good standard, with great facilities to improve.

Prior to COVID, our main fundraiser was through the Cabaret at the village hall, which we have missed out on these for 2 years, plus other events we would have held. Alongside the fact of increasing the number of teams we have from 2 to 4, with increasing costs for all our expenditure, as well the need to continually invest in our pitch and pitch side facilities this fundraising is vital to our longevity and ambition to maintain and improve our teams and facilities

We are currently knocking through our snack shack/bar facility to make more room on match days for all players and spectators to use the facilities, making it a community space for all. Previously we had to go back to a pub but with one closing down and a combination of opening times and other usages withing the village, we needed to create a post match experience as part of being in the league we play in. With welding costs, flooring, joinery, an extra door and partitioning off the changing rooms this is a big cost. As well as this, entering a new under 23s team will see increased costs to support our youth players to make it affordable for them to play.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! We have some great reards as well!!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
