We aim to provide a warm and welcoming space with refreshments for anyone in Hunstanton who may be struggling with fuel bills or loneliness.
We aim to provide a warm and welcoming space with refreshments for people living in Hunstanton who may be struggling with fuel bills and loneliness. The project has been running successfully since October 2022 and we hope to continue the project throughout the year.
This project has been set up by members of Hunstanton Methodist Church. A risk assessment has been carried out and all the members follow the safeguarding policies of the Church.

Hunstanton has a large population of retired and elderly people. Currently up to 15 people regularly gather on Thursday mornings in the Warm Welcome Space. Most of these people do not attend the church for religious services and some are in significant financial hardship. We are considering expanding the service and would like to continue for the rest of the year.
The project has been running so far on the goodwill and financial support of the people providing the service and the generosity of Hunstanton Methodist Church. The visitors are not charged for entry or refreshments. Hunstanton Methodist Church has not charged the Warm Welcome Space any rent for the use of the facilities so far. Normally groups using the church rooms are charged. To continue the service we need to pay the church in the same way as all other groups.
The money will be used by the group organisers to buy the refreshments and by Hunstanton Methodist Church to help pay the gas and electricity bills to heat the community area and run the kitchen facilities.
