Who are we?
Humans MCR is Greater Manchester’s answer to the multifaceted problem of food poverty. A charity with a difference; we provide dignity-first food support, delivered to their home. We then offer practical yet simple solutions to our beneficiaries, ensuring they are supported from the point of crisis to the point they are able to sustain themselves independently.
Our main food support services are our Foodbank on-wheels and Community Grocers on-wheels; the first rungs on the ladder out of poverty. We operate these services Monday-Friday, 50 weeks a year and prioritise fresh food and nutrition, as well as client choice, across both of these projects. These food support services work in synergy with our free educational content focusing on life skills, such as cooking on a budget, and extended signposting to our 1000+ partners who specialise in other frontline services.
Urgent appeal
In just one year, we've doubled the number of clients we serve, going from 21,000 to 41,000+ referral pathways. Your support is crucial to ensure we can continue to meet this growing demand. Many of those we serve come to us because they’ve been turned away elsewhere, often due to the heavy burden of poor mental or physical health. But here, they find hope, compassion, and the support they need.
We provide a safe haven for individuals who may have been turned away from other support services due to poor mental or physical health.
