We need your help!
Hullabaloo needs your help to raise funds and ensure it continues to operate in the coming months. Trading conditions in recent months have been difficult; we are suffering the same pressures that has seen a number of local pubs close for good. With the continuing rising cost of energy, food and drink supplies plus a cost of living crisis that means customers are spending less - we are appealing to you to help us overcome these short-term difficulties and ensure that we can continue with plans to create an lively space in Shipley for music and arts events.
Hullabaloo is a registered Community Benefit Society trading as a pub/diner, with exciting plans to become a thriving community arts centre. We are looking to improve accessibility and develop Hullabaloo into a multi-use facility, with community activities in the daytime and offering live events such as bands, folk and roots music in evenings
What we offer
We have already commenced booking bands for autumn and further into 2025, we host the nationally-known Topic Folk Club and we are about to announce a new hosting initiative soon with another exciting partner very which will bring even more live music to Shipley. As well as securing the immediate future of the pub operation, the long-term aim is to refurbish the interior and the kitchen plus develop the first floor of the building into the biggest live music and arts venue in Shipley with a potential capacity of 300 plus. . Following on from the crowdfunding appeal you will be invited to become a member of Friends of Hullabaloo Limited. This means you will have a say in the future running of the venue and its exciting development.
Why Shipley?
Our community surveys showed us the need for a new community venue that will offer local communities with multiple activities and support. Furthermore, we are the only community-owned and cooperatively-run such centre in Shipley. Your chosen pledge will help us realise our goal and provide continuous trading through the winter with extended opening hours. A successful crowdfunding appeal will trigger the release of substantial lottery funding already secured by the board. As a customer you will see many improvements to the venue and new facilities appear including an accessible toilet and kitchen improvements. This will allow us to offer the venue for wider community use, including an extension of hours in the daytime to make full use of the building.
