As part of warm welcome spaces network, we wish to support the running of additional sessions at The Hub for the community.
The Hub Hazelwell is a community building which serves the Kings Heath, Brandwood and Stirchley areas of Birmingham. The centre runs a number of leisure activities and provides room hire for local organisations. In addition we support the local community by offering a free welcoming space to come and share a cup of tea with their neighbours.
As part of our charitable work we have become part of the Birmingham Network of Warm Spaces which provides a welcoming space where people can seek support if needed. We hoping by having this space people will also be able to form new friendships and have a sense of community connection. We already run one free session at the The Hub however we want to be able to offer additional sessions at on different days of the week incorporating various activities such as arts and crafts or health and wellbeing sessions in addition to signposting support for those who need it in the community.
The money raised will go towards the opening of additional free sessions at the centre and continue to extend our work in supporting the community during the cost of living crisis. We want the community to be able to have access to activities and support which can enhance their wellbeing during these stressful times.
