With this additional push of funding we will be able to cover more ground with our market garden and feed more of our community. We will be closer to offering more educational experiences on the farm such as workshops and courses. It might be that we are able to push the construction of our facilities for volunteers and guests to the farm which would become a perennial boulster to our business as well as providing an opportunity for further involvment and enrichment.

Our primary aim at Earthbound is to develop and maintain the ecological abundance of the land in our custody in order to benefit the health of our community and our environment, simple! We hope to connect our community through food, good health and a love of natural beauty. Our hope is that our project will become an asset to the area, providing healthy produce, stimulating experiences and an enriching education in sustainable ways of living.

We have key areas of focus on the Farm - Producing food through sustainable methods, Collecting a nursery of useful plants (seeds and perennial cuttings), educating and bringing people together and enriching the landscape with a diverse variety of plants and animals. Our aim is to create self-sufficient systems of production, such that we rely minimally on external inputs. Though not accredited as such yet, our growing methods are entirely organic and chemical free. We believe this to be imperative when producing food with the consumers health in mind. We know that growing food is not always plain sailing, we understand from our experience how important it is to add value to the crops we grow where we can and find ways to supplement the relatively low income from food sales. In the future we hope to do this by hosting dinners and workshops, making preserves and dried goods and offering consultancy and other services to our community.

The financial support that we are looking for will be used on essential infrastructure required to get the self-sufficient systems off the ground. It will be put towards the construction of our timber framed barn that will house our friends cidery as well as our equipment, food prep area and office space. Beyond this the money will also be put towards anything from our bore hole installation and irrigation fittings, greens harvester and hand tools. As with any farming project, the initial investment in infrastructure will pave the way for us to operate efficiently. We are excited to involve the 'crowd' in funding this project as we are ultimately building something for our communites benefit! The money raised will be added to all the savings that we have each put into the project already. We are excitedly looking to start trading in May next year.
