Aim

We urgently need funds to recruit and train volunteers to provide financial advice and support for the most vulnerable in our community

• Many of our service users are facing financial crisis in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, just as demand for front line services is increasing our funding is being challenged 

  We provide front-line services and social support to hundreds of people every week, we have seen an increased demand for our service post covid, with changes in universal credits and the end of furlough.  

  We aim to meet the needs of as many people and families as possible in the North East of Glasgow, including people struggling on a low income, dealing with unmanageable debt, facing eviction or repossession of their home, experiencing ill-health or disability or recovering from alcohol or drug dependency.
  
  Our holistic approach seeks to deal with all aspects of a person’s problems, so they can effectively plan and move forward and are not stuck in a cycle of crisis.
  Last year:
  Our advisers helped over 3,748 people with 8,671 separate issues or problems (with money-related issues including social security benefits, debt, finance and charity support accounting for nearly three quarters of our work) and secured over £1,164,522 million in additional income for our clients
  Our admin supported 2,500 telephone calls in addition 
  44 volunteers received training in advice.
