Extend our climbing wall, allowing more people to reap the rewards of their social, physical & mental wellbeing through climbing sessions
Updated 28th June - 17th August charity abseil
We are running a charity abseil event on the 17th August at Attleborough Scouts to raise money for the Morley climbing wall extension.

Participants will climb to the top of the 10.5 wall then abseil off the side from the abseil point.
If you would like to participate, please let us know at [email protected], we are asking for a minimum £5 donation on Crowdfunding towards our extention.
Otherwise, please feel free to sponsor several of our climbers who will be participating:
Lorna Purser and Clare Purser
Who are we?
We are Morley climbing wall, located in Morley just off the A11, providing a roped climbing wall for climbers from Morley, Wymondham, Norwich, Thetford and other nearby areas. We provide social climbing sessions where anyone can just turn up to and start climbing - and you could be next. Anyone is welcome, from complete beginners who are just starting out, to seasoned pros, from 18 years old to anyone retired who needs something to do in their spare time.

Morley Village & Sports Hall is a charity that runs the Social Climbing Sessions. It also hires the climbing wall to Boost Climbing who run under 18s climbing sessions

Why are we crowdfunding?
We are Crowdfunding because our existing climbing wall, which was built in 2016 needs extending. We currently have 12 ropes, providing room for up to 24 climbers at once. We are looks to expand to 18 ropes, increasing the number of people we can accommodate, and providing a greater variety of routes. Given the variety of people we cater to, we want to provide a challenge for everyone, without having too many hard or easy climbs. The extension will help us provide this, and offer a different style of climbing by including an overhang - as climbers, the more horizontal we are, the better the climb!
We are mobility friendly with accessible parking, and are a hub of sports activity from junior to fitness in later life, bringing a steady stream of visitors not just for climbing, but other activities hosted at Morley village and Sports Hall.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We currently have 12 roped routes and are looking to expand this to 18. The extension will include additional space for novice traverse routes and more challenging overhangs for skills development. This will cater to both experienced climbers, beginners trying out climbing, and current climbers looking for a bit more of a challenge.
We will be having the wall professionally designed and installed by the company that made our current wall, ensuring that it fits out needs and specifications. This means the wall will fit perfectly into the space we have, and and will be designed so that we can provide climbs fit for all climbers, while being different to our currently available wall and climbs.
The project will cost at least £40,000 and we have £7,500 earmarked from our income to help finance the project.
A grant/crowdfunding is needed because, as a charity, we offer climbing at affordable rates to maximise financial inclusivity
Community impact
The additional extension will allow more people from our local community to reap the rewards of their social, mental, and physical wellbeing which are the real benefits of climbing
