Help raise £10,000 to keep our therapeutic clubs open for another year.
My name is Alex Manners and I am a volunteer at a charity called “Family Equip” that was set up in 2004 to help children and young adults who have difficulties such as Asperger’s Syndrome (high functioning Autism). Prior to being a volunteer I attended the clubs between the ages of 11 and 16 years old.
In September 2016, Family Equip had vital funding applications for our clubs turned down. Our present financial reserves will run out at the end of December 2016 and we want to carry on our work and therapeutic clubs for the benefit of the young individuals that we support.

The charity runs therapeutic clubs for boys aged 9+, boys of secondary school age, girls aged 9+ and siblings. These clubs give the individuals and families respite. There is a chance for the individuals to interact with people who are going through the same challenges that they experience. The clubs provide the youngsters with a sense of belonging, allowing them to grow in confidence and somewhere where they can just be themselves.

We are keen to ask you to help us raise funds towards the running of our therapeutic clubs, such as the hiring out of rooms. The money will also go towards Individuals who are offered separate support for anxiety, loss and anger - coming to terms with and manging these situations.
