Aim

The aim of our project is to be able to provide football for all genders, ages, abilities and disabilities. Football in the community is key

My name is Daniel Troop, I have been with Holbrook Football Club for around 10 years. We rely heavily on voluntary work from the community and other members in the committee. I have always wanted to ensure the football club could grow the youth and give something that many others can give. I strongly believe that without grassroots football being delivered correctly and engaging with players we as a football community in England will soon struggle and young budding players will fall foul of an opportunity. Currently at the ground we hold a soccer school for 6-8 year olds giving them coaching without being in a team. Some young players are not confident enough to join a team but still want to play football and receive coaching of that level. As the winter sets in we would like to repair 2 of our floodlights so we can continue to coach on the main football pitch to give the players the best experience possible. I would like to develop budding football coaches in the community to run a full youth development for the football club. This will focus on treating them like a professional and making them feel how they should and deserve. Through Covid-19 the club suffered incredibly with bills, vandalism and theft. As a committee we are starting to get back to normal from some severe hard work but now we want to push on and give grassroots what they deserve. The club is full self funded and rely on volunteers which proves very difficult to provide the best of what these young athletes deserve.
