The Shire Hall and Howden Helpers are working together to provide a ‘Warm space’ for people in our town over the winter.
The Shire Hall and Howden Helpers are working together to provide a ‘Warm space’ for people in our town over the winter.
Hundreds of thousands of people up and down the country have visited ‘warm spaces’ in the past few weeks as falling temperatures have forced struggling bill payers to seek shelter and warmth outside their own homes as the current cost of living crisis bites.
We are going to be running three sessions a week in the Shire Hall, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 10 am to 2pm.
Our Warm Space is open to all and provides a welcoming environment in which to sit and enjoy free tea and coffee, a warming mug of soup and read a newspaper, meet up with friends ( or make new ones) and turn the heating down for a few hours to help with those ever increasing energy bills.
Co-op Local Community Fund has provided £3,258 of match funding
