New stretch target
Our first target was what we needed to publish our first paper on a shoestring. The extra funding will go towards access, supporting the core team, artist fees, thinking bigger and achieving more!

Our first target was what we needed to publish our first paper on a shoestring. The extra funding will go towards access, supporting the core team, artist fees, thinking bigger and achieving more!
How To Catch A Pig is launching a newspaper! We have the power to create counterculture and we need you! We are aiming to fundraise £4000, and we are now accepting pitches for our 'SOLIDARITY' issue til April 17th.
How To Catch A Pig was created to push back against the silencing of radical left wing art, and after reflecting on historical political and creative projects that have been successful in movement building, we have decided to launch a newspaper!
How To Catch A Pig is an anarchist party bringing together performers, musicians, and artists who organise against the state. Pig is for the punks and the outsiders, the anarchists, the genderfxckers, the sex workers, the outcasts and the organisers.
We hope it can be a part of our mission to use creative practices to politically educate and engage. We have decided to crowdfund to avoid relying on and being accountable to government arts funding which has demonstrated its reluctance to fund political work.
We are raising £4000 so that we can pay everyone for their work, as well as cover printing costs. Any additional funds raised will go towards artist fees and making sure our launch party on July 13th is as accessible as it can be.
We are accepting pitches for our SOLIDARITY themed issue. You will be paid for your contribution. HTCAP is serious about its politics, but it is also creative, satirical, encouraging, and it thinks outside the box. We will accept pitches for fiction and non fiction, art works, poetry, interviews, reviews etc! We are looking for work that is decolonial, anti imperial, anti racist, anti capitalist, inspiring, educational, feminist, and in line with pig’s ethos. We particularly encourage voices from marginalised lives.
WANT TO GET INVOLVED?! Send us a FEW SENTENCES about your idea and who you are to [email protected] by APRIL 17th if you'd like to contribute to the paper!
