How far can Bo go? 4km on his back!!!
Hello everyone. Thank you for all your generous support. It really made the difference because I had a cold last week which affected my breathing so, I got in, started swimming (freestyle) and really didn't think I could swim for an hour. But I knew I couldn't let people down, so I rolled over and did almost the entire hour swimming backstroke so I could breathe better. I made the 4km (160 laps) target just in time. The longest backstroke swim ever! It was for a good cause, and you all helped me get there. Thank you! Boaz
I love swimming and love being a part of Hackney Aquatics Club (HAC), which is now a registered charity too.
HAC operates an access fund which provides financial support to help cover the costs of swimming for those who need it. This helps more people get into swimming and more people able to do more in the sport.
On Sunday 22 Sept, HAC is running a Festival of Swimming for fun ... and for funDs. I have signed up for the "one hour challenge", a one hour sponsored swim to raise funds for the access fund. I prefer to swim fast than swim far so a challenge it is.
I think I can swim 4kms or 160 laps of the 25m pool. But how far do you think Bo can go?
Please sponsor me either by pledging:
(i) a fixed amount in full now; or
(ii) on a per km or per lap basis by pledging a small amount now and leaving a comment to state the amount you will sponsor me per km or per lap and, after I am done, you can top up your initial pledge according to how far I have swum.
Anything you can contribute will help HAC get more people swimming.
