The Prize
A bottle of House of Lords Scotch Whiskey signed by the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. This is an investment piece, a bottle of champagne signed by Margaret Thatcher recently sold at auction for £25,000. I am sure that the value of such an item will continue to increase over time. We have a signed photograph to accompany this piece and provides its authenticity.
A small investment now, which also helps a good cause, could result in owning a piece of British political history.
The Cause
Second Chance Children’s Charity is at the forefront of caring for children who need special help. They may have been abused, come from a poverty stricken background or have learning difficulties, sometimes all three! For 40 years we have worked in an innovative and original way using angling to hang our educational, social and personal welfare work on.
We were kindly gifted this signed bottle of whisky by a long term patron of the charity who was part of the police protection team for Margaret Thatcher, and was gifted this bottle and a signed photograph for his service.
All funds raised from this prize draw will go directly towards working with some of the most deprived youngsters in Britain today, at our rural centre.
These facilities provide a safe space for the youngsters that we work with to enjoy a traditional childhood. The ability to run around, climb a tree, fish, paddle in the river, swim in the lakes and generally have fun, all whilst learning key life skills which will help them in many aspects of their lives. These youngsters have very little confidence in their own abilities, and by attending our rural centre they gain self confidence, pride and respect for themselves, their peers, community etc. and hopefully become contributing members of society.
