House a Ukrainian family in Folkestone for a year

Aim

We want to furnish a house to allow a Ukrainian family to have a safe home for a year

We recently bought the 3 bed house next door to us, with a plan to refurbish. However, given the crisis in Ukraine, we want to be able to provide a safe home for a year for a Ukrainian family who are seeking refuge in the UK.

4.5million people have been displaced since the invasion of Ukraine with 2.5million refugees fleeing the country. Many people are relocating to the UK to find stable, safe houses for themselves and their children and we can help. 

Although the house is fully functioning, it is currently unfurnished. We are hoping to raise £3235 to fully furnish the house so a family can move straight in. There is already a working kitchen with white goods but we are planning to buy the following:

1 double bed and mattress ~£250

4 single beds with mattresses ~£180 each 

Bookshelves x 2 £40 each 

Chest of drawers x3 £80 each 

Wardrobes x3 ~ £85 each

Sofa ~ £300

Television ~£160

All kitchen equipment- crockery, cutlery, pots, pans ~£250

Microwave~£70

Towels, curtains, bedding for 5 beds- duvet, sheets, pillows, blankets ~£550

Wi-Fi and TV ~£30/month £360

***Anything that is bought or donated, including all furniture, will be given to the family as and when they leave our house to help them continue to rebuild their lives.

*** Any extra funding that is not needed for the above, will be used to cover amenity bills  for the family for a year or given to the charity Refugees at Home
