3 year hosting costs for Shotsweb

Aim

Shotsweb hosting was kindly donated to us for free between 2015 and 2022. We now have a cost to cover. This is slightly less than £10 p.m

Who are we?

Shotsweb has been in operation since the late 1990s. Whilst often criticised for its negative outlook it has provided a community and a space for Shots fans to gather, vent, and applaud in equal measure!

Why are we crowdfunding?

We need to raise £310 to cover basic hosting costs for the next 3 years through bluehost.com.

If you visit their website, you can see the monthly costs for basic hosting, plus a secure (https) certificate:

• Monthly hosting: £4.28 per month + VAT
• Monthly SSL certificate: £2.88 per month + VAT

This fee has already been agreed and committed by the Admin team. If the total sum is not raised, then the site will continue to be privately funded. We could consider advertising as an alernate way to fund the site in future.

How you can play your part

There are two simple ways to help us reach our target and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and ask Shots fans to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

Not too much please...

We would really much rather have 60 people pay £5 each, than receive much kinder larger donations that could lead to the impression that Shotsweb was funded/owned by just a few (an "inner circle"). 

If you were mindful to invest more than £20, we urge that you hold back for a few weeks at least.

Those who contribute will attain a special User Rank within the site, which will come with a "badge of honour" to show they are part of the funding team.

This project successfully funded on 10th November 2022
