Horn Park car parks can be a boggy, Somme-like mess in the wetter, colder weeks of the season.
We are going to undertake works over the course of the summer:
- The right hand car park (Main Car Park) will be leveled, overgrowth in the far corner cleared and then graveled over giving much needed additional parking space as well as removing the fear of getting your car stuck in the mud!
- The left hand side car park will be transformed into much needed additional playing space for the rugby club.
- All of the work will be carried out and completed in time for the new season.
- In light of the need to be environmentally friendly (reduce, reuse, recycle) there will be no removal of any waste product when the works are done.
- Rather, the additional soil removed from the Main Car Park will be treated and used for the playing surface on the left hand side.
- Currently, under the grass on the car park on the left hand side are the old clay tennis courts. This surface will be removed and transferred to the Main Car Park as a base for the parking surface
