Aim

We’re raising funds to run a support centre providing vital aid and stability for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

A Foundation for Stability. 

Havens Community Hub is a trusted fixture in East Sussex with a six-year history of supporting people through life-altering crises. Our team comprises experienced local advocates who understand the specific socio-economic landscape of Newhaven. We don’t just provide aid; we build the infrastructure for resilience.

The Idea & Vision 

Our vision is to transform a recently purchased former church hall into a comprehensive support ecosystem. We aim to bridge the gap between immediate survival and long-term stability. By providing a physical space that offers both "human dignity" services (hot meals, showers, and goods) and partnering with organisations that offer "systemic" support (housing, mental health, and financial and legal advice), we can create an accessible, local, and compassionate pathway out of homelessness, temporary or insecure accommodation and people at risk of losing their homes.

How We Will Use the Funds: 

The money raised will be the "engine" that brings this building to life. Specifically, we will:

• Equip the Facility: Fund the operational costs of the shower units, laundry facilities, and kitchen to provide essential hygiene and nutrition.
• Provide Survival Gear: Purchase suitable tents, bedding, clothing, and power banks for those currently rough sleeping or in insecure accommodation.
• Coordinate Professional Services: Facilitate the "Hub" model by hosting a rotating calendar of statutory services—including advise services, mental health practitioners, and housing officers—ensuring our clients get professional intervention in a safe, familiar environment.

The Enjoolata Foundation https://www.enjoolata.org/ have agreed to match fund £5,000 of donations (from the £10,000 target up to the £15,000 target) and will add this amount if the £15,000 is hit - making our total a MASSIVE £20,000!Our thanks to the amazing team at Enjoolata for all their support
