This prize draw is in aid of the RNLI in memory of a much loved and highly respected member of Holyhead RNLI crew, Iwan Williams – who passed away last year.
Iwan had been a volunteer with Holyhead RNLI since 1985 and is described by his fellow crew member as a ‘true gent’ and ‘dedicated lifeboatman’. The unique fundraiser is in memory of his long service and outstanding achievements and bravery as an RNLI volunteer.
Tony Price RNLI Coxswain at Holyhead said: ‘Iwan was steady and strong. For all his years, he gave over 100% to saving lives and helping others around our coastline. We are immensely grateful to Stena for giving us the opportunity to benefit from this unique fundraiser in his memory. The chimney stack really is an iconic building and we’re hoping local people will be keen to try their luck at winning the draw and being a part of history.’
All funds raised will go towards saving lives at sea to celebrate and commemorate Iwan’s long service and outstanding achievements and bravery as an RNLI volunteer at Holyhead and around the Anglesey coastline.
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, RNLI volunteer crew across four lifeboat stations on Anglesey – Trearddur Bay, Holyhead, Moelfre and Beaumaris - are ready to save lives. Their mission is to save everyone who finds themselves in trouble in the water, and to work with schools, businesses and community groups to inspire future generations and to provide education and water safety messaging to encourage safe enjoyment of our Anglesey coastline.
Every lifeboat launch, and every life saved, is only possible thanks to the generosity of people like you.

About Prosperity Parc and Stena Line
Prosperity Parc is embarking on an exciting next chapter in its history as one of the key sites lying within the new Anglesey Freeport. Stena Line, the owners of Prosperity Parc, are working to draw up plans for a vibrant new future on Prosperity Parc, which will act as a hotbed of innovation, skilled jobs and global investment. Ahead of these plans, Prosperity Parc is being cleared to make way for new investment, the chimney removal is part of these works.
Ian Davies, Head of UK Port Authorities for Stena Line said: ‘This is a brilliant opportunity for communities across Anglesey to play their part in a historic moment for the island. The removal of the chimney at Prosperity Parc marks an exciting next chapter in the development of the site, securing the site's future and ensuring it is ready for the next generation of investment. I'm also delighted that all proceeds of the prize draw will be going to such a brilliant cause – as a proud seafarer myself and member of the RNLI for over 20 years, I know how important local lifeboat stations are to the safety of those at sea, and I wish all entrants the very best of luck.’

Cystadleuaeth Dymchwel Simdde Caergybi
Cyfle unwaith mewn oes i chwarae rhan yn nymchwel corn simnai eiconig ym Mharc Ffyniant Caergybi, er budd yr RNLI.
Y Wobr
Y wobr yn y gystadleuaeth unigryw hon fydd cyfle i aelod o’r cyhoedd ddymchwel simdde eiconig Parc Ffyniant, yng Nghaergybi – a chasglu arian ar gyfer yr RNLI yr un pryd! Bydd yr enillydd yn ymuno gyda thîm Stena Line, tu nȏl i’r llenni, i ‘bwyso’r botwm’ fydd yn dechrau dymchwel y simdde, a bod yn ran o’r digwyddiad hanesyddol yma.
Yr Achos
Cynhelir y gystadleuaeth er budd yr RNLI, er cȏf am Iwan Williams, aelod poblogaidd ac uchel ei barch o griw y bad achub yng Nghaergybi - a fu farw llynedd. Cychwynodd Iwan wirfoddoli gyda’r RNLI yng Nghaergybi yn 1985 ac fe’i ddisgrifwyd gan ei gyd-aelodaufel gŵr bonheddig ac ymroddedig. Mae’r gystadleuaeth unigryw hon er cȏf am ei wasanaeth, ei gyflawniadau rhagorol a’i ddewrder fel gwirfoddolwr gyda’r RNLI.
Bydd holl elw’r gystadleuaeth hon yn mynd tuag at ariannu nȏd yr RNLI sef i achub bywydau ar y mȏr ac i gydnabod cyfraniad gwerthfawr Iwan fel aelod o’r bad achub yng Nghaergybi ac ar hyd arfordir Ynys Mȏn.
Pob tro mae’r bad achub yn cael ei alw allan; pob bywyd sy’n cael ei achub - byddai hyn ddim ond yn bosibl diolch i garedigrwydd bobl arbennig fel chi.
