Secure the future of the College of the Holy Child in Hastings as an Arts Centre and year round education provider and stop development
We are raising money to secure the future of the site of The Holy Child in Hastings. This historically important 12 acre site is home to the Society of the Holy Child Jesus founded by the Venerable Cornellia Connelly in the mid 19th Century. The site has always been used for education purposes and it is our intention to bring year round education provision to the site and preserve it for future genrations.
As part of these plans we will also open to the public for portions of the year through the creation of an Arts centre and by engaging with local community projects and local primary schools in particular through artistic projects and design led thinking and interaction. We hope to replicate the Bayeaux Tapestry in an outdoor art installation for example and include local artists and school children in bringing this to fruition.
To ensure the commerical viability of the project we will blend a mixture of paid for and free programs and reveberate the philosophies of the foundress for another century. The site is fascinating and holds so many secrets and mysteries that we would like to share with everybody who knows the site or is new to its charms.

The first target is to ensure the option to purchase the site in full is met and immediate renovation works can take place to enable year round international language and UK group visitors to generate revenue to bring the grander visions to life.
