Aim
We are wanting to install a solar panel and battery storage system at Holmfirth cc for the future sustainability of the club.
Who are we?
Holmfirth Cricket Club is a proud community club based in the Holme Valley, with a long standing tradition of competitive cricket. The club provides opportunities for players of all ages and abilities, from juniors learning the game to seniors competing at a high level. Built on values of teamwork, sportsmanship and respect, Holmfirth CC is as much about community as it is about cricket. With a welcoming atmosphere on and off the field, the club is committed to developing player, supporting volunteers and keeping the game thriving for future generations.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are crowdfunding to raise money for solar panels and battery storage so we can generate clean, renewable energy and become more self-sufficient in how we power our club. Installing solar panels will reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and lower our long-term energy costs, while battery storage will allow us to store excess energy and use it when the sun isn't shining. This project is an investment in sustainability, resilience and our shared future-by contributing, supporters are helping us cut carbon emissions, protect the environment and create a more reliable and affordable energy system for years to come.
How we’ll spend the money raised -
We aim to install 7kw of solar panels to the front and side elevations of the roof, and a hybrid battery storage system to store unused energy.
Community impact
If we are successful in our bid it will make the club more economical to run all year round, enabling us to offer the facility to other community groups who may wish to make use of our facilities.
