We need your help. The Big Holly Park Appeal is raising money to build a brand-new school library.
From next year, we will have a unique opportunity to transform a spare classroom into a dedicated space where children can immerse themselves in the magic of books and learning.
Why a new Library?
At Holly Park, we're passionate about enriching children's education beyond the classroom. A dedicated library will provide our Holly Parkers with space to explore stories, ideas, and concepts, fostering a lifelong love for reading and learning.
Your Impact
We aim to raise £5,000 through The Big Holly Park Appeal. Your generous donations will drive the transformation of the classroom, covering costs such as refurbishment, shelving, furniture, decorating, seating, and cosy nooks suitable for all ages. We all know how important reading is to children, and with your help, we can create a new library that inspires curiosity and sparks creativity.
If you are a UK taxpayer, we can also claim gift aid, further increasing the value of your donation.
Why do we need your help?
With rising costs and reducing pupil numbers, schools in England are over £2 billion poorer than they were in 2015. In line with most maintained schools across the UK, Holly Park Primary School has faced real-term budget reductions over the past 10 years.
The cost of the new library is expected to be around £25,000 - something the school budget cannot stretch to. We have already raised around £15,000 from the PTA and other sources. However, we are aiming to raise £5,000 through The Big Holly Park appeal.
Anything raised over the target will go towards books and additional library resources.
This appeal brings together the efforts of the governing body, PTA, school and local community, and supporting businesses to raise the additional funds we need for this wonderful initiative.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps. Please also help spread the word – we can't build a new library without you!
