We are investing in renewable energy in the face of rising costs, to protect the future of the sanctuary.

Hi, I'm Richard, Corporate Volunteer & Fundraiser at Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary.
I have been working with a number of AVIVA groups on volunteer days at the sanctuary, where we can get involved with anything from fence painting, refurbishing a dog sensory garden or hedge trimming, all combined with lots of cat and dog cuddling!
Aviva volunteer teams making a difference...

The Sanctuary is inundated with unwanted, abandoned and often mistreated cats and dogs every day of the year and is completely reliant on charitable donations.
Launched over 30 years ago, we take in and rehome up to 800 animals each year and we rely on a network of volunteers and animal fosterers, alongside our dedicated team of staff.

We currently spend over £30,000 on energy each year to keep our residents warm and deal with a constant turnover of laundry; it's an ever increasing expense.
With this in mind we have ambitions to become as self sufficient as possible.
Funds raised will go towards installing Solar Panels on the kennel roofs which will supply electricity, fitting Air Source Heat Pumps for heating both the kennels and cattery, and a Solar Thermal System which will provide hot water for the laundry and washrooms.
The success of this project will reduce our energy bills considerably for many years to come and your donation will help to secure the future of the sanctuary and the many souls that come into our care.
