Aim

Hollands & Blair U14's are looking to raise funds for much needed team kit as a new team, and also funds for the Laurence Plummer Foundation

Who are we?

We are Hollands & Blair, a local football club that prides itself on fostering community spirit, promoting healthy lifestyles, and developing young talent right here in Medway. The club started in 1970 and now has over 30 teams comprising youth, men and women.

The U14's will be undertaking a 10 mile walk on Saturday 5th September 2026 to raise essential team funds. The Walk will begin outside Maidstone FC and head towards Chatham Town FC. It will then continue on to Gillingham FC before completing at Star Meadow, home of the mighty Hollands & Blair FC where the boys can rest their legs cheering the Men's First Team to victory.

Why are we crowdfunding?

As a new team start up costs can be high and raising money for much need kit and equipment is essential to ensure the players have a sense of belonging and identity. Feeling part of a team helps boost confidence and emotional well being in addition to providing life skills that can stay with players for the rest of their lives.

The club has very close connections with the Laurence Plummer Foundation which was set up to honour the late Laurence Plummer who was stalwart of Hollands & Blair and a huge contributor to the growth of the club to where it is today. The Laurence Plummer Foundation aims through its fund raising activities to award small grants to local young people who may be at a financial disadvantage. These grants will be aimed at helping young people take the next step in their sport, whether it’s from joining their first club or competing at a high level The Laurence Plummer Foundation aims to help.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Of the monies raised by the boys upon completion of the walk we will use 50% of the funds to provide the kit and equipment needed for the new season.

50% of the monies raise will be donated directly to the Laurence Plummer Foundation to help those local young people in need.

Community impact

Medway has 14 neighbourhoods that are ranked as the 10% worst in the country for poverty, 1 in 2 adults in Medway are obese and more than 2 in 5 primary aged children in Medway are obese. Child poverty in Medway is 30% against a national average of 22% and 1 in 5 young people in Medway have a mental health disorder, so I am sure you can imagine football clubs such as Hollands & Blair play a crucial role in creating opportunities for children to stay heathy, physically and mentally.
