We are doing a 24-hour Everest challenge to raise money for the hockey department to enter tours and support kit purchases.

Project by Glenalmond College

From noon on Friday 11 October to noon on Saturday 12 October 2024 we will be doing an Everest challenge.

This is a 24-hour test, where our hockey pupils will be climbing the height of Mount Everest - 8849 M in elevation, on the treadmills in the Gannochy sports centre.

All pupils are welcome to participate and will rotate in 30-minute shifts throughout the 24 hours, to achieve a total elevation climb of 8849 above sea level.

We aim to raise £2500 to provide the hockey team with much-needed kit and the opportunity to compete on new tours. Please help, any contribution would be greatly appreciated!

"This year the club's attitude is positive and determined, something we will build on in future years. The money raised will help contribute to the junior Belfast tour and new kit for the club. The Junior U15 tour provides an opportunity to expand skills and awareness of the game whilst bonding with each other. By building strong foundations through the junior years, this momentum will inspire others to get involved and push us all forward as a school. We encourage all members of all the teams junior and senior to get involved and make the change that we want to see" - Sasha Morison (1st XI Hockey Captain)
