After a decade of creating fun, vibrant designs for pets and their people, we decided it was about time to launch something entirely new. Say hello to Hiro + Wolf Kids!
But first, who are Hiro + Wolf?
Hiro + Wolf pets was born when 2 dogs (named Hiro and Wolf) met in London Fields Park, back in 2010. Their humans quickly discovered a common love for design, animals, and sustainability and spent the next year creating the first ever Hiro + Wolf collection at our Director, Amy’s, sewing machine. Hiro + Wolf officially launched in the Summer of 2013 with a collection of vibrant, British-made products for pets.
Now an internationally recognised brand, Hiro + Wolf collections are sold in stores worldwide. Hiro + Wolf have achieved significant media attention with features in national publications including Elle Decoration, Living etc. and GQ Magazine.
Who is Mélanie Johnsson?
Mel is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer originally from France. Having moved to the UK in 2014, she now calls Margate home. We first met Mel over 7 years ago when she visited our Margate store. It was clear from the beginning that we shared a passion for colourful and eco-conscious design.
Mel illustrates and designs for brands across different fields (from homeware and stationary to fashion and editorial) She prioritises working with sustainable brands which reflect her own values as well as brands who consciously spread love and joy.
Mel has worked with some incredible brands including Vans, Frankie, Adobe, Kinderkraft, Lucy & Yak, Anthropologie and many more.
So what is Hiro + Wolf Kids?
Hiro + Wolf Kids is a new, fun collection of handmade accessories for pets and the kids that love them. Born out of a shared love for colourful, handmade, sustainable design and inspired by the kids we share our lives with.
Our initial launch collection for Hiro + Wolf Kids has been designed by local illustrator Mélanie Johnsson. Her colourful prints feature on a range of organic cotton trousers, hats and gilets for kids as well as collars, leads and harnesses for pets.
Hiro + Wolf has been built on a passion for supporting UK manufacturing, using sustainable materials and championing women in business and craft globally. Absolutely every one of our pet accessories is made by women, many of them mothers themselves. It feels very right that we should expand our collection into childrenswear, creating environmentally conscious clothing that is locally made and supports the mother’s making it.
Why do we need your help?
Things are tough out there for creative businesses right now. We have all the skills and experience, a proven business model and customers waiting but we need to raise the finance to get our newest baby off the ground.
The money raised from this crowdfunder will pay for the design, production and marketing of our new collaborative collection for kids and pets.
