NEWS - HINCKLEY RFC FACEMASKS
What better way to stay safe and support the Club than our new reward of a Hinckley RFC Facemask in return for a donation of £7 or more. The masks are black with the Hinckley Hornet and Club Logos.

NEWS - THE BIG HORNET CYCLE RIDE

Last weekend saw a fantastic boost to our Crowdfunder campaign with the sponsorship received for the riders in the Big Hornet Bike Ride. We even had to extend the mileage to Rugby HQ . You can still sponsor a rider or take up one of our many rewards to help us reach our now stretched target of £30,000. If sponsoring a rider tell everyone who you are sponsoring & give them a message of support (keep it clean).
Our Club
Hinckley Rugby Football Club has supported sport in the community for over 125 years and has teams including; youth teams at all age groups from 5 year olds to 18 year olds, 3 girls teams, 3 senior teams, a (very senior) vets team, a touch rugby team and a thriving walking rugby team.

The Problem we face
As part of our development plan started in 2014, we took over the neighbouring football club facilities and transformed these into more rugby playing areas and better social facilities to support the future demands of the club. Each year, as our club community grows, we put considerable demand on the club facilities, increased pitch usage, growing numbers across the changing facilities, and ever-increasing traffic on the carpark.
As with every rugby club across the UK, we have had our main sources of income cut short. Our season ended around six-weeks early, meaning we lost considerable revenues from our Game-day operations, and we have had to unfortunately cancel all function/room hire from April onwards.
During this off-season, the Committee had planned to allocate finances to support various facility improvements that would support our social and community-based teams for the next season. Walking Rugby, Touch Rugby along with our large Youth Rugby Team’s would all benefit from the projects planned.
Without the finance available, we cannot start work on these key projects to improve the facilities for ahead of the new rugby season

What is the money for?
Showers –The inherited water system is simply no longer fit-for-purpose. Despite the upgrades to the water supply to the building, it runs out after only 5 minutes use of the showers. After this the showers only provide a dribble and water supply to the toilets and kitchen is also much reduced. Our showers are so bad they have even been reported in Rugby News, Room 101 feature as “terrible post-match showers”.
Road Surfaces – The road surface to the club house, tennis and netball courts is in urgent need of repair. The potholes have caused damage to cars and buses and we must ensure we have a safe road and access area for emergency services.
Changing Rooms – We currently have portable changing room units that were a stop-gap temporary solution. We therefore must extend the current changing rooms to allow for more space.
Physio & Rehab – We are lucky to have such a highly experienced physio team, headed by Tom Haynes. However, our current physio room is simply not up to scratch, and must be improved to give Tom the right tools he needs to serve the needs of our Senior an Youth sections.
