Aim

I am walking 19k in Epping Forest to raise funds for the COVID-19 bereaved families for justice group.

My beloved father died on 15th April this year. He fell victim to COVID-19 whilst resident in a care home.  My family and I are devastated by our loss. Like many bereaved families who lost their loved ones to COVID-19, we are left grieving; trying to make sense of what happened, and seeking answers as to why my father died in the way he did.

We are now in the midst of a second wave of the pandemic, and seeing an exponential rise in the number of cases reported week on week. If we are to save lives; we need to understand what went wrong, so we can learn lessons and prevent a similar fate befalling others this winter.

We at #COVID-19BereavedFamiliesForJusticeUK continue to lobby MPs and campaign to enlist support for our cause. We've also been working to build up relationships with lot s of organisations who may support our call for a public inquiry. This has included the Race Equality Foundation, the British Medical Association and the NHS Confederation amongst others.  In the first instance, we are calling for a rapid review of the way in which COVID-19 was managed.

We are gaining traction and require funding to keep ramping up our campaign. To raise funds, I will be hiking 19k across Epping Forest on Saturday 24th October. To make sure I don't get lost, my partner Mike will be offering direction and moral support as we negotiate the undergrowth and myriad trails through the forest.

Remember, we are all at risk during this global pandemic. It is incumbent upon all of us to do what we can to SAVE LIVES this winter. That's why I'm urging you to sponsor me for this worthy cause. You can do this now by selecting the sum you wish to donate below. Please give generously.

Thanking you for your kind support.

Best Regards

Jean :)
