In March 2021 our school minibus was stolen. Friends of Highbury and the classes in school are raising money to help fund a new one.
Highbury School caters for children aged 4-11 who have a range of special educational needs, and whose needs cannot be met in a standard mainstream setting. After years of fundraising, we were finally able to buy a school minibus in June 2020. We were so excited to be able to offer our pupils the opportunity to apply their learning in the community and practise crucial life skills. Sadly, due to COVID we have been unable to utilise our minibus as planned.
In March 2021 our electronic gates were badly damaged and our school minibus was stolen. We have recently found out that the insurance will cover less than expected. A local school has kindly lent us a minibus. However, this bus will need to be returned at the end of summer term.
The Hub (satellite provision based at Copley) travel to Highbury each week to access the specialist resources. We were very upset about our minibus and have taken on the task of helping to fundraise for a new one. We are running a charity car wash, summer fayre and prize draw to help raise money. We are using this website to run our Spin the Wheel prize draw with the help of Friends of Highbury.
How does it work?
