Hidden Help Delivery Van Appeal

Aim

We desperately need a bigger van to collect, restore and up-cycle donations of furniture to distribute to those rehoused after crisis.

Hidden Help is based in Cornwall and has been assisting the homeless, those escaping domestic violence, ex-offenders, veterans and the long term sick to get back on their feet after having been rehoused. We collect donations of household goods and appliances, clean and restore them and then redistribute them to our clients who are referred through the local agencies. Demand has totally outstripped supply and we desperately need a bigger van to allow our volunteers, several of whom were once our clients, to deliver items in a safe and timely manner. 

Last week we helped a single mum who was in hospital having a baby and escaping from an abusive partner. Her new flat had no carpets, appliances or anything for her new baby. Hidden help collected donations and overhauled the flat (see phots) so that when she came home from hospital she could start again afresh. 

We have no paid staff and exist entirely on donations from the public. A new van would mean that we could be far more cost effective and also collect larger items as we currently have to say no to many things as we simply can’t fit them in! We are a Registered Charity 1193305. It would be simply amazing if you could help us; we are only small but like to think that we make a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable in Cornwall.
