This is now a 1:1 match funding opportunity for Hidden Help

This means that donations will be doubled.

This is a great opportunity for us, so please do give what you can and share, share, share as we have to reach our target to get the match funding.

Who we are

Hidden Help is a Cornish charity which delivers essential furniture and household items to individuals and families in need, including those who have been rehoused after seeking refuge from domestic violence, the homeless, the long-term unemployed, asylum seekers, individuals with chronic illness or disability, ex-offenders, and veterans from the armed forces.

These services are provided entirely free of charge to clients referred to us by social services.

What we do

Those provided with living accommodation often find themselves in empty apartments with no basic amenities. We address this gap, ensuring that individuals and families have the necessary resources to live with dignity and help alleviate financial strain so that they are better able to focus on their future.

The items are provided by the local community donating unwanted furniture and household items, which otherwise might go to landfill, such as beds, bedding, chairs, tables, curtains, kitchenware, cutlery, bath items etc.

The cost of living challenges facing Cornwall

We operate in Cornwall where the levels of poverty in the county are amongst the highest in the country and many individuals and families in Cornwall face significant challenges.

We have more than doubled the number of families we help in the last two years and need to grow our operations to service this demand.

More people need our help and we must grow!

We're seeking funds for a project aimed at enlarging our warehouse capacity to meet the rising demand for our services in Cornwall. Responding to unprecedented levels of need in our community.

The expansion of our warehouse space not only allows us to meet the increasing demand for essential support services by keeping a greater stock of items but it also enables us to enhance our revenue generation capabilities by keeping a greater selection of products that can be sold and showcased at our vintage shop.

The increased revenue generated from the sale of household items through our charity shop contributes directly to our income, reducing our reliance on grants or donations. This diversified income stream strengthens our organisational resilience by providing a more stable and sustainable funding source.

We are doubling our warehouse space AND need a new van

The purchase of a newer and larger van (to replace this one) and take us to two vans, which will allow us to conduct more visits within the communities that we serve and increase our capacity of items we can transport back to the warehouse, thereby improving efficiencies within the logistics of our organisation.
