Aim

Help elect Green candidates Abi Kingston, Jasmine O'Connor and Emmanuel Onapa for King's Park in May 2026

Your support is key to electing 3 hardworking local Greens to represent King's Park ward in this year’s local elections. Abi, Jasmine and Emmanuel (left to right in photo) are campaigning hard, but they need your help. Be part of the Green wave sweeping the country by increasing the number of Green councillors here in King's Park, Hackney.

Our Story

We are working tirelessly to represent the interests of our neighbours, but in a local election, the greatest challenge is ensuring every resident hears from us. Unlike large-party machines with massive budgets, our campaign is entirely grassroots. We win or lose based on the number of conversations we have on the doorstep and the number of times we get campaign literature through people’s letterboxes.

We want to put a human face on local politics by engaging directly with residents about the issues that matter most.

Abi is passionate about equality and improving people’s lives across the ward. After working as a support worker, Abi is now a counsellor, giving domestic abuse survivors and disabled people the support they deserve. Abi has spent decades working with charities supporting Hackney residents, dealing with housing, finance and legal problems.

Jasmine is a long-standing local resident, and is keen to ensure that everyone in King’s Park receives the high-quality services they are entitled to. A tireless, community-focused leader, she brings many years of experience in supporting young people, families, refugees, and to survivors of abuse and hate crime. As a charity CEO, Jasmine provides invaluable experience in managing multi-million pound budgets, and wants to use her skills for the betterment of the borough.

Emmanuel is an award-winning journalist, and has been featured in more than 30 publications, including The Independent, The i Paper, Rolling Stone UK, and i-D. A passionate advocate for marginalised groups, his multimedia work centres on social justice issues across Hackney. He currently serves as a trustee director for the ‘Alliance for Youth Justice’, and is the external affairs and campaigns manager for ‘Account in Hackney’.

Why We Need Your Help

To win, we must communicate our key messages to every household. Transparency is vital to us, so we want you to know exactly where your money goes: it costs us £250 every time we deliver a leaflet across the ward, it costs for us to get our message out on social media and it costs hundreds of pounds to place ads in local media.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're funded by ordinary people who believe real change is possible. We’re doing it without corporate money or party machines behind us.

Here's how your donation will help:

£10: This will pay for 285 letters to voters in several streets.

£25: This will pay for 715 letters to voters in several streets.

£50: This will pay for 1,430 letters to voters in several streets.

£250: This helps fund a ward-wide leaflet delivery round

All three seats are winnable, but only if we fund it. Donate today. Share this campaign with your networks. Help us build something powerful from the ground up.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All sums donated will go into general party funds. Please note that we will carry out permissibility checks for any donations over £500. In addition, any single donation (or aggregate donations from the same source in the same calendar year) over the reporting threshold of £11,180 will be published on the Electoral Commission website, including the donor's identity.
