To provide free and affordable counselling to adults, children, young people and families in Somerset and neighbouring counties.
Your support will make a difference by helping us reach our target to provide 1200 sessions of free and affordable counselling to the people who need it most, helping them to create a positive and lasting change in their lives.
We respond quickly at the point of need to reduce suffering and break down the barriers so that counselling is available for anyone who needs it, when they need it, and where they need it.
We have noticed there is a common belief that everyone can access mental health support either through the NHS, education or through work; however, you might not be aware that:
They can come to us.
Community Counselling CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2018 by Director and CEO Rhonda Lovell. As a qualified counsellor working in school communities, Rhonda saw first-hand that there was a high demand for mental health support for children, young people and their families and set about creating a community counselling model in Wellington, Somerset that would help equalise access to mental health support.
We are a values led not-for-profit; our values of professionalism, compassion and equality of access to mental health drive everything that we do.
Now in our eighth year, our community counselling model has successfully delivered over 10,000 hours of counselling, reaching people across Somerset and beyond in the South West. The need for our services is greater than ever before.
We rely on grant and the kindness of strangers to fulfil our mission of creating a community pot from which we can give counselling to those who need it.
