Aim: The club is aiming to improve our facilities, especially for our female cricketers and supporters, to improve inclusivity.
Hensall CC is a small, rural, friendly cricket club situated in North Yorkshire. We have three senior competitive senior weekend teams, a T20 mid week team as well as thriving junior teams from under 9s to under 15s.
We are raising funds for a new pavillion extension to include a new female changing facility and new toilets. We need to raise £7000 and Sport England will match the funding to give us a total of £14000. In recent years we are proud to have developed our own female cricketers.
These are a few of our u15 girls having fun at training:
At present our females are unfortunately required to attend matches in full kit and have no changing facilities available to them. It is vital for the future of our club and development of our young female cricketers that we are able to provide for all those playing cricket. Currently, our club is limited in female growth due to our current facilities and looking at the future we feel it is necessary and only right we give females the same opportunities.
These are our current toilet facilities
We have an increasing junior section and the pavillon extension will allow whole club events for all to enjoy.
We will spend the money raised by adding an extension to our cricket pavilion,a new female changing facility and new toilets/showers. The completion of this project will allow us to renovate our existing pavillion to modernise the social area, the bar and seating area and needs to be upgraded so that the space will appeal to more members and other social groups within the community.
New proposed pavilion below:
An improvement to the changing facilities and shower area is needed as the current configuration is only suitable for men. A new layout is required to be more inclusive and will better serve the growing membership of cricket in the womens and childrens section.
The club is a not for profit charity and only has limited resources to carry out this project. The club is aiming to raise an additional £14,000 to help us complete the project.
The aim of this fund is to improve the facilities for the whole community, but in particular for females, whether they be players, spectators or visitors. We have good links with the local primary schools to promote our game, with the aim of recruiting more players to our club. By enhancing the facilities within the club house, we will be able to host more events, activities, and programmes that bring the community together and promote community involvements in our club.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
