Our aim is to create a bigger space to facilitate more sessions; a dance studio, media centre, counselling room and kitchen facilities.
OUR MISSION
Is to empower and motivate young women aged 12-21 years old; by means of promoting and encouraging individuality; through challenging the limitations of their mind-sets, in order to reach their full potential in life.
The culture of today's society is vastly changing, and with this comes many challenging issues for girls and young millennial women. With the pressures of social media, higher educational fees, and unemployment, our young women are being socially and economically squeezed. We believe the old motto of "give someone a fish, and you feed them for the day; show them how to catch fish, and you feed them for a lifetime." YGT aims to help young women create the tools they need to deal with the challenges life brings and to help them onto the path of success.

OUR IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY
So far we have worked with over 100 girls in and around London, running workshops covering issues around self-esteem and confidence, money management, black british history, healthy eating, dance, music sports and more. We have created a safe space to enable young women to express themselves, deal with difficult issues and build budding friendships. We have achieved many positive outcomes as a result of the work we do; such as improved school attendance and behaviour, less anti-social behaviour within the community, due to there being a space whereby girls can attend our sessions, which has given them something constructive to do, alongside helping them engage in their community in positives way.

WHAT OUR COMMUNITY SAYS ABOUT YGT
"Since coming to YGT i have become more confident about myself and have made lots of friends."

"YGT has helped me to learn so much and I was able to save my pocket money when i did the money management workshop."
"As a parent I have seen the difference in my daughter, she has really come out of her shell and even her teachers at school have noticed this."
"This project is a needed space for BAME girls, especially in an area such as Croydon, which is very diverse. The workshops they run help young women to talk about matters that they may not get to at home and school."

OUR VISION
The money raised will be used to create a better space to open up our services to more girls and run more activities.
With the space our vision is to create;
● Computer Suite
This will enable us to run employability and training session. Alongside graphic, web design, coding workshops.
● Media Centre
Where girls can learn how to run a podcast, present, edit and photography.
● Dance Studio
To promote health and wellbeing through dance and fitness, such as yoga and step classes. We also aim to open this up to the community to access classes.
● Office / Counselling Room
This will be a space where staff can work with the girls on a 1:1 basis, alongside offering coaching or counselling sessions by professionals.
