Aim

I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and I have a small request.

Skye House is an inpatient unit at Stobhill Hospital that provides dedicated services for young people aged 12 - 17 years, from across the West of Scotland, who have serious mental health problems.

Although it is based in Glasgow, the unit also takes referrals from NHS boards in Ayrshire and Arran, Dumfries and Galloway, Forth Valley, and Lanarkshire

It is a really well equipped facility, with a purpose-built gym, classrooms, gardens and overnight accommodation for visiting families.

But the Covid-19 pandemic has had a big impact. The young people can’t have visitors. Most of them aren’t able to have access to phones/computers (for their own safety and well-being).

It’s especially hard for those that are isolated in their room because they have tested positive for Covid, or are ill with it.

So I'm raising money to help staff to buy what's needed, to help these young people to manage the challenge of getting through lockdown while they are in hospital - things like radios, fidget toys (they help with anxiety etc), colouring books, and craft materials.

Really simple things that could make a big difference.

I hope you will want to support this appeal.

The money will go to the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, and will be redirected from there to Skye House.

Thank you for your help.
