To continue to provide free, independent and confidential advice on a wide range of subjects for everyone in the community
The current crisis has shown that a growing number of people are unable to manage their finances and are building up significant debt. This funding will help expand our work across Cornwall to help people manage their money better, take control of debt and become financially resilient. Our programme of workshops and roadshows is currently focused in town and community centres, we want to expand to schools, colleges and youth groups to instil strong budgeting skills at an early age.
Through our advice work, we often meet people who are in debt or are struggling because they don’t understand how to manage their money. We have developed a successful programme that works with individuals and small groups to help them understand priority and non-priority debts, how to manage on limited income and tips for reducing expenditure. We want to roll this out to young people to give them the skills and confidence as they transition to independent living.
