A team of three of us will be travelling to Ukraine to help rescue those trapped by Putin's war machine, who largely are stuck without transport.
While the effort to evacuate people so far has been fantastic, as most younger family members have either escaped or been enlisted, there are few left behind to help elderly and vulnerable people - who initially opted to stay - flee the incessant bombing.
I have so far taken it upon myself to buy a van (which can fit 20-30 people) and thanks to The Garden House Pub (Jonathon and Tanya Child) we have managed to acquire a sizeable amount of supplies (seen below) - ranging from toiletries to canned and dry food - which we will take over to Ukraine as our first supply drop.
Similarly Penny Mordaunt's, the MP for Portsmouth North, Office very kindly arranged for my team to receive some PPE as part of a wider donations package for Ukraine.

After we have dropped off the initial supplies, we will then use the van to ferry Ukrainian refugees to the Polish border, where we will restock on food and repeat this process for a month - leaving the U.K. on the 5th of April.
We've been informed by sources on the ground that the Ukrainian motorways are either destroyed or clogged up with traffic due to military checkpoints, so we will have to take backroads, which is likely to add a significant cost to the journey due to the rising price of fuel.
The team will be working round the clock to ensure we can evacuate as many people as possible, at severe personal risk to ourselves, and we do not want to be forced to cease operations because we run out of money for fuel. We are adamant we can not sit by as innocent people, who could be saved, are killed.
The United Nations estimate around 1,000 civilians - including women, the vulnerable and children - have been killed so far in the conflict - with thousands more seriously injured. This number is only going to increase if aid efforts aren't actively helping evacuate people.
With your support, we can help ensure that we save as many people as we can, and help make a real difference.
