We want funding to run CAP (Christians against Poverty - Registered course) money course, helping people to get rid of debt and enjoy life.
We are a small local charity in Bexhill East Sussex, we want to run CAP (Christians against poverty) courses at the Pelham. The Pelham is a community hub in an area of high economic need. The aim of the project is to help those in debt or on a tight budget learn to budget and get control of their income.
The UK has two thirds of the total credit facilities of all European Countries, it means we have got out of the habit of living within a budget and being able to afford life. With higher energy costs and the rising cost of living, being able to budget and afford to live life to its fullness has never been so important.
We will use the money raised to offer one to one support- building budgets and helping ensure that anyone in need is getting all the financial help they are entitled to. We can look at what bills they can truly afford and devise a plan to get them to save for short and long term goals.
We will pay for room hire, a lap top so that people can use the free online CAP budgeting tool and staff time to give support and care to people who will often feel isolated, frustrated and worthless.
