Oliver has had the same powered wheelchair for 15 years. His current chair is severely incompatible with the stage of his condition.

Hi my name is Debra Keable, I'm 65 years old and I am asking and assisting my son Oliver Keable to raise funds for a replacement wheelchair.

Oliver is my only child and he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy ( a muscle wasting disease, which is progressive and life limiting, with no cure) at the age 4 1/2 he was only given a life expectancy of 16 years and thankfully Oliver is 35 years old this year. Oliver is an amazing, strong person and his fight to live is phenomenal.

Olivers current powered wheelchair is 15 years old and severely incompatible with Olivers current stage of his condition. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see as a mother how much pain and discomfort Oliver is in.

Oliver is unable to use his controls and has to be assisted by myself, retired father and carer's. The seating is no longer supportive and is causing pain and discomfort. The only Indepedance Oliver had left has now also been taken away.

We are asking for donations to fund the chair he needs to be able to get the little independence he is able to have back as his is unable to do anything for himself and his chair is his life line to all the hobbies he enjoys including going to the movies and above everything going to wrestling events.

Unfortunately in the UK we receive no help with funding for the chair Oliver needs and with being over 18 years old he is above the age limit for any foundations to help.

Please help my son get his life back. Thank you very much for your support and any donations we receive. Updates will be posted on the progress of his chair.
