Help my friend Tareq’s family in Gaza. His widowed mum has two young girls and needs help with shelter, food, milk

As many of you know, I lived in Greece in 2019 and worked at the Samos refugee camp. While I was there, I met Tareq, who became a close friend of mine. We’ve stayed in contact ever since and are still in regular contact today.

Tareq is originally from Gaza, and his family are still stuck there. His mum and his two young sisters are still in Gaza, with no safe way out. Because of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, they are living through an incredibly dangerous situation, where they face fear and uncertainty every single day.

His mum is caring for two little girls, one is 3½ years old and the youngest is only 9 months old. Sadly, their father was killed while their mum was pregnant with the youngest, so her little girl was born without her dad.

She has no regular income and no one supporting her financially. She is struggling to provide the basics her children need, including food, baby milk, nappies and clothes, all of which are becoming increasingly expensive and difficult to get.

I’m hoping to raise enough money to help her buy a tent and pay the monthly rent for a piece of land to put it on, as well as cover food, milk, nappies, clothing and other basic living costs.

I don’t want this to just help them for a few days or weeks. I’m hoping we can raise enough to give them some ongoing support for as long as possible.
