Aim: To raise £20,000 to help get aid for the people of Syria, injured or displaced as a result of Turkey's brutal attacks.
The crises the Kurds are facing
The people in North-Eastern Syria (Rojava) are faced with a massacre after the Turkish state's military invasion since 9th October 2019.
With heavy bombardment on cities and villages, over three hundred civilians have been killed in a week, with several hundred injured and over 300,000 people displaced. Hospitals, ambulances, schools, bakeries and a central water facility to three towns have been attacked. There is an urgent need for medicine, food, water and winter survival supplies for those injured and left homeless - the international community has not delivered and the situation is very dire.
What can you do?
The few NGOs that existed had to flee due to the airstrikes and The Kurdish Red Crescent (Heyva Sor a Kurd) is the main charity on the ground trying to rescue lives, taking aid and basic survival supplies to those injured and displaced. Heyva Sor mostly relies on public donations.
For Heyva Sor reports on the situation in the areas of operation, see HeyvaSor_UK website, a list of supplies and medical needs are also provided in these reports.
Help us raise £20,000 in aid
We are asking the international community to help us raise £20,000 to get urgently needed medical supplies. The medicine stock of Heyva Sor has diminished - a medicine list is available on the HeyvaSor_UK website. Funds are needed to source them from neighboring towns in Iraq. Unfortunately, medicine sourced from Europe or elsewhere is difficult to get across the customs border in Iraq to bring into Syria, and very time-intensive. If we raise more funs we can also help get water and food supplies for the IDPs. You can track progress from our website.
