Help us get a second van to the Polish/Ukrainian border town of Przemysl
You may be aware of the initiative we've been running - to deliver aid donated by the Farnham community to Przemysl at the Polish/Ukrainian border.
We committed to getting one van to the border (covering all costs ourselves) but the awesome and overwhelming response from the Farnham community means we've got enough aid to fill another van - though this comes at a cost (vehicle hire, insurance, diesel, customs, ferry crossings etc).
It would be amazing if the community could support this second van in its mission, so we can get 190 boxes of aid directly to those in need at the border.
You may have heard stories of people setting off in vans with the best intent but with little planning resulting in unsuccessful delivery. We therefore wanted to assure you that we've lined everything up for success. We've been working with UK and Polish customs agents, have logged all the relevant paperwork and insurances, have meticulously planned routes, booked ferries and are meeting (and getting daily updates from) our Polish and Ukrainian NGO reps on the ground.
Ash (accompanied by his good friend Tim) will driving the first van, and has other drivers lined up for the second van.
Any additional funds raised over the £3000 required for the second van's journey will go towards restocking the vans locally in Poland assisting the refugee camp in Przemysl. The team also intend to remain on site at the border for 24 hours and assist where needed.
We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and volume of donations we've received so far, and thank you for your support.
