We are Gloucester Ukrainian Aid, a team of people from all walks of life who want to help those suffering from the war in Ukraine.
We are purely a volunteer force and take no salaries, meaning 100% of the donations go to support the people affected by the war in Ukraine.
We know there are a lot of people in Ukraine who need help, here are some that are particularly close to our hearts. We have a personal connection with them. Below are 3 places we would like to send aid to.
CASE 1
Meet Olenka, she is a Ukrainian lady who lives in Gloucestershire but is originally from Chernivtsi, Ukraine. She has asked if GUA can help support case 1.
“M’yata” in Chernivtsi is a non-government charity.

This charity has been running for 5 years. The founder and owner Taya works at the local university as a tutor. They are currently helping orphans, children from disadvantaged families, and large families. She says "because the city where I live has hosted and is accepting many families from areas where there is fighting, children have been left without toys, and many of them ask for rollerblades, bicycles, and footballs to spend time outdoors in the summer".
CASE 2
Meet Silvika, her daughter attends school in Gloucestershire and one of the TA's is a Ukrainian Lady, whose brother was killed in combat recently.
An abandoned hostel in the region of Zaporizhzhia on the edge of Russia-occupied territory is housing people who fleed and have nowhere to go. They are supported by a group of volunteers from Zaporizhzhia Union of Entrepreneurs 'Unity''. Their aim is to help displaced people from occupied territories of Ukraine. ‘Unity’ helps refugees from Mariupol and other towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia region which are currently under combat operations. Right now Unity’ is taking care of more than 80 civilians 30 of whom are children aged from 6 months to 16 years old. They also support drivers, who are risking their lives and deliver aid to those who cannot or do not want to leave occupied territories as Red Cross does not go there.

CASE 3
Meet Lukasz, he lives in Gloucestershire and has been supporting refugees in his town of Chervonohrad since the war started. He asks if GUA can help support case 3.
He says; "I am supporting a group of people running refugee centres in Chervonohrad. These people are working under local government with support from the Mayor of Chervonohrad. They have 800 people living in schools and nurseries. They also supply people on the outskirts off this town with another 700 people. Over there are a large number of people with no money or food.
I have visited 9 off these shelters to distribute supplies from the main distribution station in Chervonohrad. I have met a lady who is running this distribution centre in Chervonohrad and a person who is driving backwards and forwards to Poland to collect supplies. Please be aware this support from Poland is running out, this is the reason they are needed. Orphanage in Chervonohrad. This place does not have a website or Facebook page. Here the poorest of the poor are being supported. Those who cannot or will not leave Ukraine but have nowhere to go.
