Helping disabled people into employment

Aim
We want to inspire people and change peoples perceptions around the ability of disabled people.
We have found that
- Disabled job seekers express the view that employers do not know how to tackle the subject of disability. This includes mental and physical disability and hence employers are unsure/nervous about employing people with a disability.
- Employers do not create inclusive interviews so disabled candidates struggle to be successful within their interview.
- Disabled job seekers feel restricted to strive for ‘awesome’ jobs because society’s thinking around the ability of disabled people is limited. This then restricts their self-belief and opportunities to achieve amazing jobs.
Our work focuses on three areas:
Providing freely available information videos which can be accessed by everyone including individuals with a hearing and visual impairment.Providing a chargeable service where we create innovative, inclusive interviews that allow disabled and talented job seekers to be successful in the job application and interview.A documentary that shows the ability and success of disabled people which will inspire others to believe in them selves and their ability.
