To raise sufficient funds to drain the existing contaminated oil, remove and replace the damaged oil tank, adapted pipe work and refill oil.
We are devastated to say that seemingly our fuel supply, having very recently been topped up, has not only been broken into and syphoned off but also had a quantity of water added, thereby topping up the level within the tank so it wasn't immediately noticeable on inspection.
Following several call outs and the fitting of a replacement pump, a quantity of water was found to be in the fuel pipe feeding the heating unit and following a closer inspection the tank was found to have a rough hole cut into the top (shown in the picture to the left)
The amount of fuel extracted from the tank has caused a subsequent drop in pressure, with insufficient gravity to feed any oil to the pump ..... there is some irony in this as the club name is now rather fitting for this recent scenario.
The conclusion is that the tank requires full drainage, removal and replaced with a more robust alarmed model or alternatively have the existing tank repaired and cleaned.
We are pursuing the insurance route in the first instance but are afraid we could now be looking at several weeks without any heating.
We are waiting for a second quote for cost of works but are aware that should we be successful with the insurers, we're also highly likely to face a further increase in annual premiums and maintenance fees. These are likely to be more expensive in the long term and at a time when we are already facing high legal costs to renew the lease and secure the future of your Gym Club, as well as meeting the survival Bounce Back Loan.
