Helping Winnie access private treatment for endometriosis and adenomyosis, scans, and practical aids to improve her quality of life.
I’m Winnie’s partner, and over the past year I’ve watched her quality of life decline significantly because of endometriosis and adenomyosis.
Winnie struggles to ask for help. She often worries that she is burdening other people and will try to deal with things herself rather than let people know how difficult things have become. That is a large part of why I’m setting this up for her.

What Winnie has been going through
She is often in severe pain. There have been repeated trips and admissions to A&E, sometimes simply so that she can receive strong enough pain relief to get the pain under control and have a decent night’s sleep.
She has now been waiting almost a year for treatment through the NHS. In the meantime, we are watching something that affects virtually every part of her life continue, with no clear route to proper treatment.
The hardest part for me has been seeing how much she is still trying to do despite all of this.
She is still trying incredibly hard
As you all know, Winnie is a pianist, teacher and performer, and she is also working towards completing her Master’s degree.
Even when she is struggling badly with pain, she still tries to practise. She still teaches when she can. She still tries to perform and keep developing as a musician while also working towards finishing her degree.
Music is an enormous part of who she is, and I want to give her the best possible chance to keep doing the things she has worked so hard for, without her health constantly determining what she can and cannot do.

What the money would be used for
This fundraiser aims to give Winnie options.
Every penny raised will go towards medical treatment, investigations, mobility aids, or equipment intended to improve her quality of life.
That could include private specialist consultations and scans, further investigations, specialist or emerging treatment options that may not currently be readily accessible through the NHS, and potentially private surgery if that becomes necessary.
We also want to look at practical things that could make daily life more manageable. For example, an electrically adjustable bed could allow her to change position when the pain is severe and hopefully make sleeping easier. Other mobility aids or equipment may also help her maintain more independence on days when walking or moving around is particularly difficult.
This fundraiser is not to replace lost income or pay ordinary living expenses. The money will be used only for her medical care and things directly intended to improve her health, mobility, comfort, or quality of life.
Why £15,000?
I’ve set the goal at £15,000 because private treatment for endometriosis can become extremely expensive, particularly if specialist imaging and surgery are required. The fund would also allow Winnie to access specialist consultations, scans and practical aids such as an adjustable bed and mobility equipment.
We don’t yet know exactly which treatments she will ultimately need, so the intention is not to spend £15,000 for the sake of reaching the target. It is simply to give her enough of a fund that, when she speaks to specialists, cost does not immediately rule out the options they recommend.
The money will belong entirely to Winnie
I will not control the money raised.
Winnie has full access to the fundraising account and the money raised.
She will decide which doctors she sees, which investigations or treatments she pursues, and which aids or equipment she feels would genuinely improve her life.
The purpose is simply to give her the choices she currently does not have.
There is absolutely no pressure to donate
Please only contribute if you genuinely want to and can comfortably do so.
Whether somebody gives £5, £20, £100 or nothing at all, there is no expectation whatsoever.
Even sharing a supportive message for me to show Winnie.
Thank you for helping me give Winnie a little more choice, comfort and control while she deals with this.
