Aim

We're crowdfunding for our first commercial CD recording with EM Records, "Full of the Highland Humours", showcasing Scottish Baroque Music!

We're Ensemble Hesperi, a dynamic and innovative London-based Early Music ensemble, dedicated to showcasing the infectious charm and dazzling virtuosity of eighteenth century Scottish music through imaginative programming and collaboration with other art forms. Since 2019, we have been featured by Classical Music Magazine, recorded in studio for Classic FM, selected as Britten Pears Young Artists for 2020, and in November 2020, we won first prize at the London International Festival of Early Music Young Ensemble Competition.

We’re delighted to be recording for EM Records, whose mission is to celebrate and preserve overlooked works by British composers throughout the centuries. Our CD will showcase music from Scottish composers of the eighteenth century, such as James Oswald and John Reid, as well as those who took their inspiration from traditional Scottish music, like the eccentric composer and violinist Francesco Geminiani. A great deal of this music is unrecorded or rarely recorded, but it is full of unique charm and energy, and we believe that it deserves to be heard by audiences around the world.

This is our first commercial CD recording, and we need your help to bring it to life! We have already raised £5,000 of the £8,000 in our recording budget, so we now just need £3,000 to contribute towards our wonderful venue hire and sound engineer. We are recording at the end of May 2021, so please give whatever you can; we are so grateful for your support!
